When first introduced to the game, the community dismissed the Stiletto as just another low/mid-tier knife, often referring to it as an oversized toothpick. However, with the passage of time, the knife has increasingly been used by Professional players and content creators, resulting in considerable gains to its value. There are some great finishes available for it that are highly regarded by the player base, such as the Tiger Tooth, Crimson Web, and the various Doppler phases, but perhaps one of the cleanest and best looking finish for the Stiletto Knife is the Fade finish.

In this guide, we will tell you all there is to know about this amazing finish and the many intricacies involved with it. If you are looking to purchase the Stiletto Knife Fade anytime soon, be sure to read on till the end.

Stiletto Knife Fade Guide

If you are looking to buy the Stiletto Knife Fade, your first priority should be to check the seed pattern associated with the skin. While some marketplaces mention the seed number for each listing, there are a few that donโ€™t. In such cases, inspect the weapon in-game and check the seed from the information at the bottom of the screen. The Fade Percentage calculator, which has been embedded on our site, is the most accurate tool online which will let you check out the Fade percentage of any seed and how it will be displayed on the weapon model. You can check it out below:

How to use the Calculator:

There are 1000 variations of the Fade pattern, each represented by a seed number ranging from 0-999. You can enter one of these in the space present on the upper right side of the page. Once the seed number is entered, the slider on the right side of the space will automatically adjust to show the corresponding Fade percentage of the seed. On the center of the page, you can see the image of the Stiletto whose seed number you are checking. The image of the weapon will also change to reflect the Fade percentage of the seed and will be displayed exactly how it would look in-game. This is the most efficient and accurate method that exists for checking Fade patterns.

On the bottom of this page is a table with three different headings which are Rank, Seed, and Fade. The Rank, as the name suggests, will show the rank of the seed number entered in comparison to all others in terms of the amount of Fade percentage present on the weapon. The seed column shows the seed pattern number of the one entered and others similar to it on other rows, while the Fade column will give the Fade percentage of the seed in a numerical value.

Stiletto Knife Fade - Factors That Affect Value And Look

Seed patterns, along with float values, play a critical role in determining the look and value of the Stiletto Knife Fade, and we are going to tell you exactly what to look out for.

Seed Patterns

Seed patterns are the most important element which needs to be checked either before purchasing the Stiletto Knife Fade, or when looking to sell one, in order to get an accurate idea of its value in the market. Each seed pattern has a Fade percentage associated with it, which ranges from 80%-100%, as was shown earlier with the Fade Percentage Calculator. On the lowest Fade coverage of 80%, the complete blade of the Stiletto is covered in the colors of the Fade pattern, with the majority being yellow and pink, and a small part on the tip of the blade being covered in purple.

The more valued patterns for the Stiletto Knife Fade are those with higher Fade percentages. At 95% Fade, the complete blade as well as the top part of the handle which is metal is also covered in the Fade pattern, with increasing amounts of purple as the Fade percentage increases. Through seed patterns, you can also determine whether the knife you are buying is a Full Fade (100%) or a Fake Full Fade (99%), both of which are almost indiscernible in-game, but can be easily verified through the seed number. As such, you can avoid overpaying for a knife which may not be worth as much.

Float Values

In the context of knives, which is all the more relevant since we are talking about the Stiletto, Fade finishes are limited to only two different levels of wear, which are Factory New, and Minimal Wear. The Factory New wear has the complete range of its values, that is, from 0.00 - 0.07, while the Minimal Wear condition only has a limited range of its float values, from 0.07 - 0.08. It is owing to this situation that the vast majority of the Stiletto Knife in a Fade finish are found in the Factory New condition. Despite these low float values, donโ€™t fall into a false sense of security thinking that the skin would look flawless. Some knives start to develop significant scratches or abrasions on the surface on float values as low as 0.04, especially on the lower edge of the blade. However, this hardly puts a dent in the overall value of the Stiletto Knife Fade and is a slight nuisance merely from an aesthetic standpoint.

Stiletto Knife Fade - How To Get One

There are two most common methods which can be employed to get the Stiletto Knife Fade. These are explained below and what you can expect with each:

Opening Cases

Another method at your disposal is that of trying your luck with case openings, in the hope that you get one as a drop. Case openings are akin to gambling, wherein you have a rough estimate of the chances of getting a drop in a particular category. Rare drops, such as knives and gloves, have a 0.26% of dropping, but there is no real guarantee that you will get it even if you end up opening 500 of them at a time. However, if you still want to give it a go, the Stiletto Knife Fade can be found as a rare drop in the following cases:

  1. Danger Zone Case
  2. Horizon Case

There are a large number of both these cases commonly listed on various online marketplaces, at affordable prices. Due to the inherent risk of making a loss, we donโ€™t generally recommend this approach.

Buying From Third-party Marketplaces

The best method to go about in the acquisition of a Stiletto Knife Fade is buying it directly from an online marketplace that deals in CS2 skins. This is by far the most efficient, as well as the most cost-effective way of doing it. To help you find great deals for the Stiletto Knife Fade, we have a complete list of all the most reputed online third-party marketplaces each with their own listings which you can check out below:
