CS2 Update Adds MLG Columbus 2016 Stickers
The stage is set for MLG Columbus 2016, and it’s time to support your favorite Legends and Challengers.
Team stickers and player autograph stickers are now available for purchase in-game or from the Steam Community Market, with 50% of the proceeds going to players and organizations.
Stickers can be placed on your weapons to show support for your favorite player or team, and they can be used as game pieces in one of the two Columbus 2016 tournament games: the Fantasy Team Game, and the Pick’Em Challenge.
Columbus 2016 Sticker Capsules
First off, the sticker capsules. They contain the holographic and foil versions of the team stickers from the Legends and Challengers groups.
Columbus 2016 Player Autograph Capsules
Then there are the player autograph capsules, containing stickers signed by the professional players competing at the event. They’re also what you need to field a roster in the Fantasy Team Game.
Columbus 2016 Team Stickers
And here are all the new stickers, team and player alike. They double as game pieces in both the Pick’Em Challenge and the Fantasy Team Game.
The Columbus 2016 Fantasy Team Game
You’ve collected your favorite players’ autographs - now manage them to form your dream CS2 team. You field a full roster of five different players to score points and increase your global rank.
A Bronze, Silver, or Gold Fantasy Trophy is awarded if your final global ranking lands in the top 30%, 15%, or 5% respectively, and there’s a Fantasy Team Leaderboard where you can compete with friends.
To field your team you must own an unused sticker for each player you choose. Submitting your roster locks those autograph stickers until the end of the event, and changing your roster does not unlock them.
The Columbus 2016 Pick’Em Challenge
The second tournament game is the Pick’Em Challenge, played with team stickers. There are 100 points on offer: you earn points for each correct pick as the tournament progresses, plus one point for each day you play the game.
It opens with the Group Stage on March 29th, where you pick the 8 teams that will win their first-day matchups.
Fantasy Roles and Scoring
You need five different player autograph stickers to field a roster, and each player is slotted into a specialized role. Every day the players on your roster gain 2 points per kill and lose 1 per death, with bonus points on top for playing their role.
The Commando earns bonus points equal to their kill/death difference. The Clutch King gains 4 points for every kill made as the last surviving member of the team. The Eco Warrior takes 2 points per pistol kill, the Entry Fragger 2 points for each opening kill of the round, and the Sniper 2 bonus points for every kill with a sniper rifle.
Your roster carries over each day, and you can adjust it after the last match of the day.
