CS2 Operation Bloodhound is Live

Itโ€™s that magic time where spring prepares to give way to summer, and of course that means a brand new operation for CS2. Welcome to Operation Bloodhound.

Six community maps come free for everyone: the new Log, Rails, Resort, and Zoo, plus fan favorites Season and Agency making their return. And all players, pass or not, can now improve their Profile Rank by earning XP - as your rank goes up your profile evolves with a new title and icon, and the first time you rank up each week earns you a weapon drop.

The Falchion Case arrives alongside the operation, with a chance at 16 community-created weapon finishes and at the deadly new addition to the knife family: the Falchion. This blade can only be found in this operation-exclusive case.

The New Falchion Case

The Falchion Case contains 16 community-designed skins. As a rare drop, it also contains the brand new Falchion knife with 13 different finishes. The Falchion is only available from this case.

The New Weapon Collections

Three of the four new collections are what pass holders get their weapon drops from: Gods and Monsters, Chop Shop, and The Rising Sun. Those drops also pull from the older Cobblestone, Cache, and Overpass collections.

The fourth, the Falchion Collection, works differently - it holds the 16 skins found inside the Falchion Case.

The Operation Bloodhound Access Pass

The Access Pass is what turns the operation into a campaign. It comes with an upgradable Challenge Coin, an Operation Journal, and 62 missions across two new campaigns. Marksman follows legendary sniper Sebastien Hennequet as he forms a unit to hunt down a Coalition Taskforce member gone rogue, while Revolution answers the call of the Phoenixโ€™s new leader, Valeria Jenner.

Alongside the regular missions there are Guardian co-op challenges - two-person defense missions against bots that you play with a friend - and Assassination missions, where you have to find and kill one specific player on the enemy team. The pass costs $5.99 and runs through September 30th.

Profile Ranks and Weapon Drops

Profile Ranks are new with this operation and apply to everyone. You earn XP at the end of a match on official servers: in Competitive it comes from rounds won, and in every other mode from your score. There is an XP bonus boost at the start of each week, and no cap at all, so you can keep ranking up indefinitely.

You get exactly one weapon drop per week, handed out the first time you gain a Rank. Without a pass it comes from the regular pool; with one it comes from the six Operation Bloodhound collections - Cobblestone, Cache, Overpass, Gods and Monsters, The Rising Sun, and Chop Shop - which hold 89 new finishes between them.

The Operation Bloodhound Maps

Log is a long-ranged battle that breaks out at a logging facility, Rails turns a decrepit rail yard into an industrial killing field in a night-time engagement, and Resort takes the luxurious Elysee Resort - once a temple to excess and wealth - and turns it into a high-stakes firefight.

Zoo rounds out the new maps, where terrorists have arrived at the Bay Area Zoo and they didnโ€™t come for the dolphin show. Fan favorites Season and Agency also make their return.
