CS2 Update Launches Operation Vanguard
Welcome to Operation Vanguard, featuring unlimited free access to a collection of six top-rated community maps, and introducing Campaigns - a new and rewarding way to play CS2.
With an Operation Vanguard Access Pass you forge your own path through a series of missions, earning extra Operation Vanguard Cases or weapon drops as a reward. The pass includes 44 new campaign missions, and you can complete two missions per week across the two campaigns that come with it. If thatโs not enough, optional campaigns let you complete additional weekly missions and send you farther across the globe. Completing a sequence of missions within a campaign earns Challenge Stars, which upgrade your Operation Vanguard Challenge Coin.
The pass costs $5.99.
Operation Vanguard Case
Completing a mission rewards you with either an Operation Vanguard Case drop or a random drop from an existing weapon collection. The case holds 14 top-rated community-created finishes, and coin holders receive these drops on top of their regular ones. As always, a key is needed to open it.
The Vanguard Collection
The 14 new finishes make up the Vanguard Collection, which is exclusive to the Operation Vanguard Case. Browse all of them below.
The Competitive Scorecard
Alongside campaigns, pass holders get a Competitive Scorecard that tracks key stats from all of their play in official competitive matches, on Vanguard maps as well as all Active Duty maps. A Friends Leaderboard shows how you rank against your friends during the operation.
The Arms Race Update
Arms Race gets an overhaul with this update, bringing new rules along with three maps that were previously restricted to Demolition mode. Will you charge through the weapon progression, or focus on taking down the enemy teamโs leader?
Missions and the Backlog
Miss a few weeks and nothing is lost: you build up a backlog instead, and once you come back you can complete missions without delay until that backlog runs out.
The same applies if you buy the pass late. You start with a backlog covering every mission you could have completed had you bought in on day one, so you can make the same progress as everyone else regardless of when you start.
