CS2 "The Arms Deal" Update Adds Over 100 New Skins

The Arms Deal Update is here, and it changes CS2 for good. It lets you collect, buy, sell and trade over 100 all-new decorated weapons, spread across ten themed collections, and equip them in-game.

There are three ways to get them. You receive timed weapon drops simply by playing CS2 on official and community servers, you can open dropped weapon cases with the matching key, or you can trade with other players through Steam’s trading interface. Anything you find, buy or trade can then be sold on the Steam Community Market.

The update also gives something back to the community through the eSports Weapon Case. A portion of the proceeds from every eSports Case Key sold is redirected to fund prize purses at CS2 community competitive events worldwide.

And finally, two new stock weapons join the game: the M4A1-S and the USP-S.

The CS:GO Weapon Case

The CS:GO Weapon Case is the first-ever weapon case in CS2. It contains a selection of skins from The Arms Deal Collection. As a rare drop, you can also get one of the 65 original knife skins, available across five different knife types.

The eSports 2013 Case

The eSports 2013 Case contains a selection of skins from The eSports 2013 Collection. A portion of every eSports Case Key sold goes toward prize pools at community CS2 competitive events. Like the CS:GO Weapon Case, it can also drop knife skins as a rare item.

The M4A1-S and USP-S

Two favorites from Counter-Strike and Counter-Strike: Source make their long-awaited debut in the CS2 inventory as stock weapons, available to everyone.

Both are less expensive than their unsilenced counterparts but carry a smaller magazine. Their detachable silencers make them quieter and suppress tracer fire, while giving you less recoil and better accuracy.

StatTrak Weapons

This update also introduces StatTrak. Available exclusively through case drops, weapons fitted with a StatTrak module keep an up-to-date record of every kill you get with that weapon.

The CS2 Workshop

Valve is also looking ahead with this announcement: in the near future, players will be able to upload their own weapon finishes and custom knife models through the CS2 Workshop, and popular up-voted finishes may even appear in future updates.
