These are the highly sought-after Sticker Capsules specific to each tournament which are released by Valve as a way for the community to showcase their support for their favorite teams. Yet for investors, these sticker capsules present a huge opportunity of making considerable profits.
The Copenhagen Major has been scheduled to start in March 2024 and is going to be the first of many for Counter-Strike 2. Note: The 2020 RMR is a natural outlier in the data and therefore will be excluded from our analysis. This way, it will not have an undue influence on the analysis and won’t end up skewing the results in any way.
Copenhagen 2024 Sticker Sale Start Prediction
For our analysis, we will take into consideration all Majors held after RMR 2020. This gives us four Majors from which to extrapolate a result, held over a period of 2 years, between 2021 and 2023. On average, during this period, stickers went on sale 25 days after the Major tournament ended.
We believe that the sticker sale for the Copenhagen Major will follow the same trend that has been witnessed during the past 2 years, and can therefore conclude that the sale will take place anywhere between 2-4 weeks after the end of the Major. This means that we can expect the Sticker Capsules to go on sale between April 15 and April 30.
For one, the delay leads to a huge build-up of hype surrounding the sale, in large part from CS2 influencers and content creators on various online platforms trying to predict the start of the sale, giving their opinions on which stickers look the best, how their combinations look on weapons, and providing investment advice to the public. Once the sticker sale eventually starts, demand has already reached a fever pitch, resulting in a skyrocketing number of purchases from the community and a windfall of revenue generation for Valve.
Also, since the player base in recent years is the highest in the game’s history, there are thousands of people, both new and old alike that are putting their money into it. The newcomers likely don’t have knowledge of the sticker sale and purchase the capsules prematurely, while others just don’t care and want to start opening them as soon as possible. The delay, therefore, lets Valve squeeze in as much revenue as possible before eventually putting up the sale.
