Description

This is a custom-designed balisong, commonly known as a butterfly knife. The defining characteristic of this weapon is the fan-like opening of a freely pivoting blade, allowing rapid deployment or concealment. As a result, butterfly knives are outlawed in many countries. It has been painted black and purple, then decorated with a metallic marker.

History

The Butterfly Knife "Freehand" was first introduced to Counter-Strike 5 years ago, on September 21st, 2021. It was released as part of the Operation Riptide Case, alongside the "Operation Riptide" update. The skin was created by Valve itself instead of a community designer.

Origin

The Butterfly Knife "Freehand" can be obtained by opening the Operation Riptide Case or Dreams & Nightmares Case. The skin is not part of any collections.

Popularity

With a popularity of 99%, the Butterfly Knife "Freehand" is currently extremely popular, which makes it one of the most popular items in CS2. This popularity score is based on recent user engagement and market activity for the skin.

Rarity

The Butterfly Knife "Freehand" is one of 604 Knife skins. The rarity of the skin is Covert, which makes it an ultra rare drop with a chance of 0.0085% from the Operation Riptide Case. That is roughly 1 in every 11.7K drops.

Availability

With a price range between $477 and $699, the Butterfly Knife "Freehand" is a pretty expensive skin. Fortunately, it's currently widely available and can be purchased on multiple different markets.

Versions

The float value of the Butterfly Knife "Freehand" ranges from 0.00 to 0.48, which makes the skin available in all exteriors. For each exterior, there also exists a StatTrak version of this skin.

Finish Style

This Butterfly Knife skin has been painted in the "Anodized Multicolored" style, with the Freehand finish. In this style, the candy coat may be applied in a multicolored pattern. In the real world, methods could include silk-screening or adherable stencils. The primary color of this skin is purple. The look of the Freehand finish is affected by its pattern index. The skin uses the new CS2 model.

Community Sentiment

The Butterfly Knife "Freehand" has received 5.7K votes on CSGOSKINS.GG, leading to an average rating of 4.4 out of 5 stars. The skin is currently also owned by the professional CS2 players olofmeister, Zeus and rallen.
