Description
Manufactured in Switzerland, the cutting-edge MP9 SMG is an ergonomic polymer weapon favored by private security firms. It has been painted with a hydrographic pattern of nuclear hazards symbols.
History
The MP9 "Setting Sun" was first introduced to Counter-Strike 12 years ago, on August 13th, 2014. It was released as part of the Cache Collection, alongside the "Cologne 2014 Souvenir Packages" update. The skin was created by Valve itself instead of a community designer.
Origin
The MP9 "Setting Sun" can be obtained from 12 different containers. This includes the ESL One Cologne 2014 Cache Souvenir Package, DreamHack 2014 Cache Souvenir Package and ESL One Katowice 2015 Cache Souvenir Package. The skin is also part of the Cache Collection.
Popularity
With a popularity of 82%, the MP9 "Setting Sun" is currently in the top 18% of the most popular items in CS2. This popularity score is based on recent user engagement and market activity for the skin.
Rarity
The MP9 "Setting Sun" is one of 304 SMG skins. The rarity of the skin is Mil-Spec Grade, which makes it a rather rare drop with a chance of 3.23% from the Cache Collection. That is roughly 1 in every 31 drops.
Availability
With a price range between $5.64 and $57.89, the MP9 "Setting Sun" is a very affordable skin. Fortunately, it's currently widely available and can be purchased on multiple different markets.
Versions
The float value of the MP9 "Setting Sun" ranges from 0.00 to 1.00, which makes the skin available in all exteriors. For each exterior, there also exists a Souvenir version of this skin.
Finish Style
This MP9 skin has been painted in the "Hydrographic" style, with the Setting Sun finish. Disassembled weapon parts are lowered through a floating hydrographic film on the surface of a water tank. The film adheres to the primed weapon parts, covering the surface with a pattern. The primary color of this skin is orange. The look of the Setting Sun finish is affected by its pattern index. The skin uses the old legacy model.
Community Sentiment
The MP9 "Setting Sun" has received 7.6K votes on CSGOSKINS.GG, leading to an average rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars. The skin is currently also owned by the professional CS2 players seized, mixwell and nitr0.
