Description
The SSG08 bolt-action is a low-damage but very cost-effective sniper rifle, making it a smart choice for early-round long-range marksmanship. It has been decorated with a permanent marker over a white base coat.
History
The SSG 08 "Detour" was first introduced to Counter-Strike 12 years ago, on July 1st, 2014. It was released as part of the Overpass Collection, alongside the "Operation Breakout" update. The skin was created by Valve itself instead of a community designer.
Origin
The SSG 08 "Detour" can be obtained from 18 different containers. This includes the ESL One Cologne 2014 Overpass Souvenir Package, DreamHack 2014 Overpass Souvenir Package and ESL One Katowice 2015 Overpass Souvenir Package. The skin is also part of the Overpass Collection.
Popularity
With a popularity of 82%, the SSG 08 "Detour" is currently in the top 18% of the most popular items in CS2. This popularity score is based on recent user engagement and market activity for the skin.
Rarity
The SSG 08 "Detour" is one of 158 Sniper Rifle skins. The rarity of the skin is Mil-Spec Grade, which makes it a rather rare drop with a chance of 1.07% from the Overpass Collection. That is roughly 1 in every 94 drops.
Availability
With a price range between $4.17 and $20.61, the SSG 08 "Detour" is a very affordable skin. Fortunately, it's currently widely available and can be purchased on multiple different markets.
Versions
The float value of the SSG 08 "Detour" ranges from 0.00 to 0.43, which makes the skin available in Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested and Well-Worn. For each exterior, there also exists a Souvenir version of this skin.
Finish Style
This SSG 08 skin has been painted in the "Hydrographic" style, with the Detour finish. Disassembled weapon parts are lowered through a floating hydrographic film on the surface of a water tank. The film adheres to the primed weapon parts, covering the surface with a pattern. The skin has been painted in a color scheme of gray and white. Different pattern indexes have no effect on the Detour finish. The skin uses the old legacy model.
Community Sentiment
The SSG 08 "Detour" has received 13.5K votes on CSGOSKINS.GG, leading to an average rating of 4.9 out of 5 stars. The skin is currently also owned by the professional CS2 players FalleN, apEX and karrigan.
