Finding Fade Percentage Values Of CS2 Skins
The world of CS2 skin collecting is vast and extensive, with the shooter offering its players thousands of items and weapon skins for them to spice up their inventory. While weapon skins in CS2 can certainly be extremely valuable, knife skins are generally the most sought-after items in the game’s community. Not only are they some of the rarest skins to get, but they’re also much more expensive when compared to weapon skins.
There are a plethora of knife skins to collect in CS2, with some skins being much more complex than others. For instance, knife skins like Dopplers, Fades, or Lores have a bunch of additional variables determining their looks that heavily impact their price tags while the value of simpler skins like Tiger Tooth or Autotronic is almost completely dependent on their wear.
In this article, we’re gonna take an in-depth look at Fade knives, and how their Fade percentage values can have a significant impact on their exterior, color, and overall value.
How to Check Fade Percentage Values of CS2 Skins
There are a number of methods that you can adopt to check Fade percentage values of CS2 skins. Some popular third-party marketplaces like CS.MONEY or BUFF163 use image pixel analysis to calculate the Fade percentage values of skins. This method, however, is not very accurate and prone to errors.
CSGOSKINS.GG has published an open-source algorithm that can mathematically calculate the Fade percentage values by converting the paint seed to a pattern position on the gun and then using it to calculate the fade percentage between 80% and 100%. This method is extremely accurate and you can find our Fade Percentage Calculator for each Fade skin below:

What Are Fade Percentage Values in CS2 Skins?
The concept of Fade percentage values in CS2 is rather simple, and it has been made by the community itself.
Every single Fade skin in CS2 has a Fade percentage value associated with them, and it determines how much of the skin is ‘faded’.
To put it simply, there are three colors in a Fade skin - Purple (Blue), Pink (Red), and Yellow (Gold). However, Fade skins can also have the color grey in the mix, which is identified as a lack of fade or lack of color. This is why a lower percentage of the color grey in fade skins almost always equates to more value for the skin.
This is where the Fade percentage values come into play. The amount of fade (or color) in a Fade skin can be identified through these values. The higher the Fade percentage value of a skin, the more color it has.
For instance, a Butterfly Fade with a 100% Fade percentage value is generally much more valuable than one with 80% Fade.
These Fade percentage values are determined by a random paint seed between 0 and 1000 that the skins inherently possess. The paint seed on a skin represents the position of the pattern image on the weapon, which consequently impacts its fade percentage value.
Range of Fade Percentage Values for CS2 Skins
Generally speaking, the Fade percentage values for CS2 skins range from anywhere between 80% to 100%. A skin with 80% Fade value implies that you’ll be able to see a significant portion of grey in the skin, while a 100% Fade value means that the entirety of the skin will be colored (excluding the handle of the knife).
A notable exception to this rule is the Falchion Knife. Unlike other knives, the Fade colors on the Falchion knives can extend well into the handle of the knife, which a portion of the community considers being above 100% and up to 110% Fade value.
However, any knife with a 100% Fade value is termed as a “full fade” knife by players.
Fade Percentage Values of Karambit and Talon Knives
It’s important to mention here that the Karambit and Talon knives are rather unique when it comes to varying Fade percentage values. Unlike the other knives in CS2, neither the Karambit nor the Talon ‘grey out’ at lower Fade percentages. This is why these knives are often represented by the percentages of each color on the knife alongside their flat fade percentage value.
For instance, an 80/17/3 Karambit Fade implies that the knife is 80% pink, 17% purple, and 3% yellow. It can also be referred to as the 91-92% Fade Karambit.
The 100% Karambit Fade, also known as the ‘True 90/10’ in the CS2 community, is one of the rarest and priciest Fade skins that you can get in CS2. It features a unique finish consisting of 90% pink and 10% yellow, with no purple in the mix.
